book insiders!

HR feels like shit:

If so, you’re gonna wanna dive headfirst into this book where I’m serving up everything from real talk and hard truths to the best-kept secrets and practical strategies you need to survive, and ultimately thrive, as a People person.

“You should go into HR"

I was doing work I was good at, that made an impact, and I freaking looooooooved.

It was great…till it wasn’t.

You see, despite doing work I loved, being in HR, well, felt like shit.

I was stressed, overwhelmed, and lonely. I felt like a fraud, making everyone think I had it all together on the outside, but secretly was a total mess on the inside. I questioned whether it was all worth it on the daily. I believed having thoughts like these surely meant I was a “bad” People person.

I was told, this is HR, a career of self-sacrifice, suffering, isolation, and limited opportunities.

Over a decade ago, those words from a mentor changed my life. I hopped off my COO track, transitioned into People, and ignored everyone’s opinion it was career suicide.

Not exactly what I thought I was signing up for.

Then, after one-too-many ugly cry, car rides home listening to a coaching podcast, I hit my breaking point and decided, right then and there, that I deserved thrive too, just as much as the people I supported every day.

That single decision led me to create big changes, to feeling radically better, and to becoming wildly more fulfilled, at work and in life.

It led me to deep mindset work, neuroscience research, life coach certification, and crazy amounts of trainings on everything from NLP to Confidence to Comms.

It led me to work with People people as a high-performance work & life coach and now building the first-of-its-kind HRforHR ecosystem, The People Posse.

But that one decision, born out of an insanely personal and painful experience of HR, led me to write this book.

Because what I’ve learned after countless conversations is my experience of HR, is like so many of you. Thousands really. I’ve seen the same things come up over and over for all of us: self-doubt, imposter syndrome, unfulfilled dreams, fears and anxieties, and a deep, deep belief we’re utterly alone.

This book is my answer to all of this.

I wrote the HR survival guide as a way to put words to the struggles we face as People people and normalize them, to self-reflect and gain awareness of what’s really holding us back in a safe space, and to share the things I've learned along the way that the HR industry isn’t teaching us, but are necessary to surviving, and ultimately thriving, as a People person.

This book is coming to life, page by page, and I want you to be a part of it before it splashes onto the People scene.

Make way, my People friends!

I’m just so damn excited to finally be able to turn my personal experiences and deep work on myself, thousands of hours researching and training, countless coaching and mentoring sessions, and far too many “you too? I thought it was just me” moments with People people into words that can help you survive, and ultimately thrive, in HR.

So while you dust off that bookshelf and scootch a little book-shaped space for me, I wanna start sharing the goods.

Cause I don’t want another day to go by without some of this goodness in your hands and someone who’s got your back (yes, even when you’re ugly crying and question it all cause, let’s be real, we all have)
